In Latin America, different programs have been implemented within health systems, together with comprehensive strategies of care targeted to promotion and prevention in local communities. The objective is to analyse the state of the art of environmental health by Primary Care in Latin America. Method: a literature review was conducted using the PRISMA methodology, with the PICOT question as fundamental element. The Publisher of Open Access Journals and Academic Google databases were used, and the 16 articles retrieved from them are presented in the following review. Results: Environmental Determinants were identified, which at the same time have direct impact on health or diseases in persons, as well as the necessity for the Environmental Health subject to be included in curriculum contents, allowing to promote environmental health from Primary Care. Conclusion: The review highlights the need for a more comprehensive and collaborative approach for environmental health management, involving multiple actors including health professionals, policy makers, educators, and the overall community. The use of interdisciplinary and collaborative strategies can improve the ability of the society to efficiently address environmental health problems and promote a healthier and more sustainable environment.
