One of the highest rates is found in ages between 20 and 24 years, with a rate of 78.1/100,000 inhabitants. The objective is to identify the sexual habits associated with the use of contraceptive methods among young persons between 18 and 25 years old in Aragon. Method: a descriptive observational cross-sectional pilot study, conducted in 2019 with a sample of 132 young sexually-active persons, by convenience sampling. An ad hoc 20-item questionnaire was prepared, with sociodemographic variables and questions about sexual habits and sexual education received. Results: the study included 132 young persons with 19 years as average age; 88.8% of them had engaged in sexual activity with penetration. The main contraceptive method used was male condom, the most frequently used in occasional relationships. The most important reasons not to use a condom were discomfort and a reduction in sensitivity. In terms of anal penetration, there was a reduction in the use of condoms; 63% of these young persons had received sexual education, and 75% of the participants highlighted its importance and interest, and the need to have said training. Conclusions: sexual education is a training tool positively valued by young persons, and some of them consider that it has been insufficient. Condoms are still the most widely used contraceptive method.
