Abstract

The aim of this article is to clarify the term "formative assessment" in terms of verifying the extent to which the objectives at issue have been achieved in the learning-teaching process. The assessment is analyzed from a justification standpoint which involves verification and improvement of the efficacy of the learning process. The different steps to be followed in the evaluative process, the different methods to be employed as a function of the characteristics of the type of learning, the characteristics of the alumni and staff, as well as the advantages and drawbacks of these methods, are all listed and explained in great detail.
