Validation of a survey conducted to detect the needs in elderly populations

Abstract
Primary end: to present a survey and the methodology used for its validation verifying that such methodology complies with the appropriate reliability and validity conditions.
Material and methods: a questionnaire based on V. Henderson´s methodology is designed from which the satisfactions indicators of each of the 14 needs are withdrawn.
Validation: 247 elderly subjects from the Parets del Vallès are selected.
Results: Kappa´s statistical test shows that 78% of the questions correspond to the groups of “good” to “very good” concordance.
Conclusions: this survey serves as a rapid screening of the current state of the needs of the subjects with a good reliability level.
