Abstract

Quality is one of the strategic elements on which the transformation and improvement of Modern Healthcare Systems is based. An indicator of quality is a quantitative measure of the presence/absence of certain criteria. These criteria have been accepted by professionals and are based on scientific evidence, being realistic and simple in their formulation. This article focuses on one of these indicators of quality. It is a study conducted by a Unit in Sevilla’s Virgen de Valme Hospital, in which we sought to describe how these abstract concepts of quality, indicators, etc are employed in practice and how they are often presented as objectives in our field of work.
