Abstract
This article stems from the communication presented at the VI Nursing Conferences of the Basque Country “Providing care and Making Progress”, which took place in Donosita/San Sebastián on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of may 2008. Its objective is to offer the nursing community our experience and assessment as agents involved in the teaching/learning process of clinical practicum classes for nursing students with regard to the use of a learning contract (apprenticeship) or fellowship as a pedagogic tool for the promotion and facilitation of a coordinated and significant learning. This article also aims to open up discussion on how nursing students practicum is currently being developed in our hospitals, health centres and different settings of nursing practice, so we can all help identify areas in need of advancement or improvement.
