Abstract
Human growth and attention to diversity are pivotal for quality education in the current Cuban nursing teaching model. This challenge is efficiently tackled by introducing tutoring as the integrating bridge of the educational influence system. The analysis of this issue presents us with the gap that exists between necessary improvement of the tutor’s mission to provide educational and professional orientation and the insufficient preparation to achieve this objective. Based on this perspective, this article presents a methodological strategy that boosts the professional development of tutors in order to promote the development of nursing students’ professional competences. A qualitative research approach is employed for the diagnosis of educational needs, the methodological strategy proposal and expert assessment.
