Abstract

Objective: to analyze the information on the main web pages of Spanish universities.
Methods: descriptive study conducted in 75 main sites of Spanish universities, which used a questionnaire with 12 items.
Results: 72% of the universities do not have in their main web page a specific area with information on the EHEA and only 13,33% of websites have all the areas studied. 57,33% of them have a section with rules and basic documents of the European Higher Education Area, 58,67% a section on frequently asked questions about the EHEA, 60% links with more specific information on the EHEA, 65,33 % do not have brochures with information about the changes brought about by the EHEA and 64% do have not support information material on the EHEA.
Conclusions: most of the universities studied do not have in their main web page a specific space for the EHEA and a minimum percentage have on their website all the areas studied. On the other hand, more than half have, a section with rules and basic documents and frequently asked questions about the EHEA respectively. A significant percentage have links with more specific information on the EHEA and a high percentage do not have brochures or support material about the major changes brought about by the EHEA.
