Abstract

Food is largely influenced both by society and culture and it is very important in school ages, as it is the time when healthy eating habits get established. This is possible thanks to the influence of school and family environment, an example of this is the fact that they eat more vegetables than other foods, despite being the food group most undesirable for children.
The feeding of school children has become a topic of great interest in recent years due to increasing childhood obesity in our country.
After obtaining the average of the different food groups by type of school (public, private and estate funded private) we din not notice significant differences, although the menus from private schools are closest to the portions recommended by the guidance of La Alimentación de tus niños from the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality.
