Abstract
Objective: To conduct an analysis of the Situational Inventory of Alcohol consumption (SIAC) in the young adult population in the state of San Luis Potosi (México).
Methodology: A descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional study of a total sample of 68 students. To collect the data the Situational Inventory of Alcohol consumption was used to measure alcohol specific situations in order to measure alcohol consumption with alpha = 0.94. The statistical processing was performed using SPSS version 17.0, using a descriptive analysis of the principal components.
Results: Of the 100 items that the instrument includes, 14 should be excluded because of an MSA of less than 0.5.
Conclusion: It is necessary to apply the ISCA again to analyze the dependability and reliability of the questionnaire with the adjustments made, taking into account similar characteristics to those present in this study.
