The practicum in the new degrees has become an entity of its own. The Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Jaén, has implemented a practicum I, during the academic year 2010-2011, with substantial changes in terms of practice shifts, nurse/student allocation and the teaching/learning methodology. We intend to explore the views of the students about this practical experience. This is a case study that relies on semi-structured interviews and descriptive analysis of the content. The main results show that the nurse/student allocation is highly valued by pupils, the day and evening shifts are considered more fruitful and virtual teaching is considered as being complex.
