Abstract
Based on the evaluation system of the course, the students have completed the following optional activities related to multiculturalism: review of a text and presentation in the classroom, teaching a class to first year Nursing students, presentation and discussion of audiovisual material, and presentation of ethnographic activity.
The papers presented either individually or in pairs were: 72 text reviews (115 students), seven classes to first year Nursing students (17 students), 18 studies of audiovisual material (31 students), and14 ethnographic activities (28 students).
The papers presented and the discussions related to them show that the classroom is an excellent setting for promoting intercultural dialogue and tolerance, favoring not only a climate of respect among students, but also useful knowledge for a better working relationship between professional staff and the patient in the context of globalization and glocalization.
