Abstract
Taking into consideration, we have proposed in the course Skills for Communicating and Health Education in Health, from the Nursing Degree at the European University of Madrid during 2011-12, an evaluation system that includes self-assessment and co-assessment of students. To analyze its impact on the development of criticism and self-criticism skill we conducted an anonymous survey between two groups of students.
36 students responded. For 91.7% of those, self-assessment and co-assessment have helped them to develop their critical thinking and self-criticism. The vast majority reported having individualized assessment and following the established criteria. A minority admits having agreed beforehand the result with other students or having assigned the maximum score for themselves.
Self-assessment and co-assessment are methods that are used, in turn, as teaching tools in the development of criticism and self-criticism.
