Abstract

Purpose: Main aim was to describe satisfaction of patients suffering chronic conditions (diabetes and/or hypertension) on a nursing-based follow-up clinic for chronic diseases at the Centro de Salud Adoratrices de Huelva.

Methods: Both quantitative (a descriptive cross-sectional study based on a perceived satisfaction questionnaire) and qualitative (though personal interviews) methods were used. A descriptive analysis was conducted, based on endpoint categories by means of a frequency describing statistic. Then, results were discussed and related to qualitative data based on interviews.

Results: According to data analysis, 96.1% of patients are satisfied with nursing-based follow-up for chronic disorders. Such findings were confirmed by interview-based data.

Conclusions: Patients with chronic disorders such as diabetes and/or hypertension in Centro de Salud Adoratrices de Huelva are satisfied with nursing-based follow-up, and according to patients no changes or improvements are currently needed in this clinic.
