Abstract

There are three types of potential complications after liver transplant surgery: general complications and those which are the result of surgical procedure and the graft. They strongly depend on the patient previous condition. The nurse should know about the specific level of liver disease involvement, which is determined by the Ched / Pugh scale, and how the surgical and anesthestic procedures were developed. Thus, the nurse could assess the risk for those complications better and faster. The nursing goal for this client conditions will be prevention as well as early discover of complications. This will be a guide for nursing interventions during the early post surgery time.
