Abstract
Is true that through the ages, cardiologyu is making veryquick advances and because of this, mortality is reducedand quality of life is growing in this type of patients. This isdue in a part to cardiac surgery and specially to extracorporeal circulation (E.C.C.). But ECC can produce secondary effects, some of which are in study yet. One ofthis effects may be the acute kidney failure.
The main objective of this work is to clarify some items of the care needed by the patients with a cardiac surgery and an acute kidney failure which treatment will be the continuos hemodyafiltratios. We pretend to offer nurses some guidelines to know and use this device, one more ofthe many that conform the all mechanisms in special units like recovery cardiac surgery units, ICU, cardiology units, etc.
