Abstract

A child admitted at the hospital can present multiple responses influenced directly by the fact of being in the hospital environment.

Objective: To know which of the children needs are not meet duringhospital admission of the infantile population at the Hospital Comarcal Sant Bernabé (Berga- Barcelona) in may of 1998.

The nursing model of Virginia Henderson has been used as conceptual frame.

Design: Descriptive, observational study.

Instrument: Questionnaire about the fourth basic needs (Virginia Henderson).

Results: The basic needs that have not been meet with a higher frequency are: Leisure, Movement, Feeding and Communication.
