Abstract
The Nursing Care Process has been recently implemented in our placeof work (Hospital Infanta Elena at Huelva). We noticed, thoroughbibliographic search, that there is nothing written about this Method, apart from some references in the theoretical field. That was thereason why we wanted to know and to assess the method of workused by the nursing staff in the hospitals belonging to the Health Andalusian Service (S.A.S. in spanish).
Design: A cross descriptive study.
Population: 5700 nursesof the S.A.S. hospitals network. 391 nurseswere selected thorough stratified random sampling, with a 2% ofsampling error and 95% confidence.
Tool to collect data: autoadministrave questionnaire.
Results: the assessment phase is implemented in 55% of the hospitals. The nursing diagnosis is being underused. There are dischargednursing care plan at a 45% of the hospitals. Academic, institutional, demographic factors and the knowledge about the Nursing CareProcess have influence on the use of the Nursing Care Process.
