Abstract
The clinical case of María approaches the nursing care in the hospital environment of a geriatric patient diagnosed of Ictus. After the nursing assessment of the functional health patterns three nursing diagnoses were detected: Imparied skin integrity, caregiver role strain and Impaired verbal communication. The early detection of these problems on the part of the nursing staff allowed to carry out a caring plan with which was obtained good result, improving both the client's and the caregiver condition.
