Abstract
Thanks to the improvement in sanitary and healthcare conditions and to the technological advances of our society, life expectancy has increased during these last decades. However, this fact has resulted in an increased disease rate that is closely associated to age, as for example in cerebrovascular disease. Due to the specific characteristics of the elderly, these health problems result in an important deterioration of their quality of life. It is thus necessary for health professionals, especially the nursing professional delivering healthcare, to elaborate strategies to help these persons recover or to adapt to their needs as much as possible.
