Abstract
Cardiopulmonary arrest is a situation considered as a vital emergency. Quick and appropriate attention by trained personnel is something basic for casualties’ survival. The principal objectives of this study have been the evaluation of practical training sessions in CPR and to find out about secondary students’ predisposition to carry out the correct steps in CPR.
This was a descriptive transversal study on an accidental sample of 316 students.
The students must fill in a questionnaire which includes five qualitative questions after a theoretical and practical session where students were taught the basic steps to take in CPR.
In a survey students assessed the sessions in the following manner: 80% rated the session as very interesting, 73% as very useful and 85% were interested in taking further sessions on health. The relationship between students and teacher was optimal in 78% of the cases. The overall assessment of the sessions, by both teachers and students, was very positive. The students recognized their utility.
