Abstract

The aim of this study is to know the opinion and attitude that community or district nurses have towards prevention field work in elderly patients from a home visit or domiciliary care perspective. A study based on in-depth interviews with primary care nurses was designed to this purpose. The results show that the care provided by these professionals basically involves the control and follow up of chronic conditions that users have and the medical advice given to them on healthy life habits, adding more specific tasks when elderly people need to be cared for in their homes. It is thus concluded that the data obtained on the care provided and the impediments to carry out such care coincide with those described in the revised literature.
