Abstract

Non-Invasive Mechanical Ventilation (NIMV) in the Positive Airway Inspiratory Pressure modalito is a technique that is now used not only in the ICU but in other hospital emergency areas. This makes it necessary for all healthcare personnel, particularly the nursing staff, to get adequate training in the use of this specialised technique. After the results obtained in patients treated with Positive Airway Pressure were analysed, we were able to show that healthcare education and a standardised follow-up of the nursing care of these patientshave made it possible for us to improve the quality of this care and the integration of the patient during treatment at the Emergency & Casualty Department.
