Abstract

Cannabis is a term that refers to the Cannabis Sativa plant or to the products derived from such plant. One of the most popular derivates is tetrahydrocannabinol, the molecule with the highest psychoactive properties, acting as an analgesic or anti-inflammatory. To date, the pathologies for which cannabis (or its synthetic derivates) is being investigated are multiple sclerosis, nauseas, vomiting, pain, anorexia, caquexy in patients with cancer or AIDS, glaucoma and asthma. The results are encouraging; although more clinical trials are needed providing other forms of administration other than inhalation.
