Abstract

The development of telematic applications to support the dissemination of mental health contents in Spain has become a new area of social research focused on the development of digital information platforms that offer the possibility of providing advice and direct information not only to patients, but to the community of health care professionals as well.  
Up until now, the internet as a means and health care-related digital contents as a basis, have demonstrated their use and efficiency in numerous international research projects, resulting in undeniable improvement of the worldwide dissemination of medical knowledge.
At an international level, most of these digital contents and Mental Health websites are immersed in globalized health care-related digital stages, digital platforms of institutions and associations of health care professionals or private initiatives with a specific objective. There are very few platforms at a national level that work to disseminate Mental Health contents and the management of which is carried out by health care agents, patients and/or family members that so desire it, contributing contents in a non-lucrative manner.
The objective of this Valencian internet-based platform for the promotion of Mental Health contents, as an initiative of Area 12 of Mental Health of the San Francisco de Borja Hospital, is to serve as a reference for consulting and management of digital information on the latest news and developments in the field of research and health care in Mental Health, at a regional and national level.
This article presents the Mental Health platform that has been created and offers the possibility of including general information on the different topics related with documentation of the latest research works, events and courses, etc., as well as a participative environment for users who register, where they will be able to share experiences acquired within professional and social settings.
