Abstract

Occupational Nursing is a nursing specialty that addresses the health of individuals in their workplace, with the aim of achieving the highest degree of physical, mental and social wellbeing of the working population.  To this end, the characteristics of each worker, their job position and the social-occupational environment in which the work is conducted are taken into account.
As in other areas of nursing, it is important for the occupational nurse to be aware of and use the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC).
This work describes the possible benefits of using the NIC in the practice of occupational health and analyses how this classification can be applied using examples from the seven fields, the types and specific interventions of which correspond to frequent interventions of the Occupational Nursing specialist.
