Abstract
Method: An observational descriptive cross-sectional multicenter study in which studied subjects are all nursing professionals in primary care (PC) and Specialised Care (SC).
The Font-Red validated questionnaire was used. This questionnaire, consisting of 24 questions grouped into nine factors that explore all dimensions of job satisfaction and a self-elaborated socio-demographic survey.
Results: The response rate was 64.03% with a mean overall satisfaction of 3.09 ± 0.25. The predominant nurse profile and overall satisfaction are similar in PC and SC. The less scored dimension in both areas was the relationship with peers 1.90 ± 0.74 and 1.93 ± 0.83 and the highest scored were professional competence 3.40 ± 0.64 and the satisfaction work 3.46 ± 0.40, respectively. We found a statistically significant relationship between age groups and the relationship with colleagues and work monotony, and
between overall satisfaction and work shifts.
Conclusion: Age and work shifts influence the job satisfaction of nursing professionals in the health area.
