Abstract
The type of patients as well as the emotional burden of the situations during the final days and preparing for the dying process make healthcare professionals more prone to experiencing this burnout syndrome. Three major sets of risk factors related to the onset of this syndrome have been detected. The factors related to aspects of the working environment and the personal factors have been found to be of greater importance in most of the research conducted, the factors involved in the relationship with the patient being considered of lesser importance to date. The purpose of this study is to furnish some basic communicating skills to serve as a resource for improving these relationships between professionals and patients.
