Abstract
The fifth article in the series “Update in search for scientific information” will introduce the user to Evidence-Based Practice (EBP). A selection of associated resources are presented, which can be of interest in order to help clinical and healthcare professionals to find the best evidence. This selection does not intend to be thorough, and is mainly focused on collecting free resources in Spanish and in English. These resources are presented following a structure of levels of evidence, and include resources for locating: (1) clinical practice guidelines, (2) reports by Agencies for Health Technology Assessment, (3) journals specialized in evidence with original contents or annotated summaries of articles from other publications, as well as (4) search engines, databases and other resources. Finally, it is essential to take into account that, even though information sources are one of the cornerstones of EBP, this process requires integration with the clinical experience of the professional, together with the needs and preferences of users and caretakers.
