Abstract
Objective: to identify quality of care indicators for pregnant women or users of hospital obstetric services, managed through the Lean Healthcare methodology.
Method: a narrative review through bibliographic search in PubMed, Cochrane Library, the Elsevier platform and Cuiden, during the past 10 years, and in Spanish and English. Controlled and free languages were used. Document selection was conducted through the review of the title and abstract of the articles obtained through the different search strategies.
Results: there were 3,932 documents found, associated with the Lean Healthcare methodology; after implementing the inclusion criteria, 17 articles were selected, and 11 key indicators were obtained from these, in order to implement them in the Lean management follow-up at a hospital Obstetrics Department; most of them were indicators of waiting time for providing services.
Conclusions: the time indicators identified are targeted to knowing the outcome of actions and tasks conducted daily for providing a service of value to pregnant women. Maintaining the indicators identified at optimal levels after their implementation, as well as the analysis of the behaviours that lead to these outcomes, will ensure an improvement in the levels of satisfaction of pregnant women.
