Abstract
Nursing care is characterised by the holistic perspective of the individual which comprises a biological, emotional, intellectual and social dimension. The purpose of this work is to urge the reader to reflect on the importance of psychosocial interventions for the nursing profession and to favour the application of such during the professional practice, starting from an analysis of the repercussion of psychosocial interventions and the influence of the individual’s own attitudes over the course of the therapeutic relationship. Likewise, the NANDA, NIC and NOC taxonomic systems are also identified as useful tools to delimit and specify the psycho-social dimension of nursing care.
