The evolution of training in Pediatric Nursing was discussed, as well as the challenges associated with recognition and implementation of the specialty. Objective: to assess the development of the FSE EIRP Program since 2012, and to identify any areas of improvement. Methodology: a questionnaire was designed in Google Forms, with 18 semistructured questions to analyse the current situation of the Pediatric Nursing TUs in Spain. Results: in 2025, Spain offers 265 EIRP jobs through 90 accredited centres, with 43 teaching units (TUs) answering the questionnaire. An increase in accredited jobs is observed, but there are still challenges in training, rotations, resources, and recognition of the specialty. Practical training and integration with MIR are positive aspects; however, some barriers stand out, such as the lack of economic resources and tutors, and the limited professional appraisal of specialists in some Autonomous Communities. Regardless of this, there are strengths such as the commitment by TUs and the increasing visibility of the program. Conclusions: even though an increase in jobs and accredited teaching units is observed, not all jobs are being offered. It is critical to standardize the training program, to promote the continuous training of tutors, and to encourage their involvement. Besides, it is a priority to guarantee the recognition of the Pediatric Nursing specialty and to improve the visibility of the program in healthcare settings.
