Methods: descriptive experimental study of the application of a therapeutic technique commonly used for venous ulcers: multilayer dressing on a surgical wound that has been present for two years.Results: the surgical wound showed clinical improvement until it resolved without complications with the use of the multilayer bandage. The sample size needs to be expanded to verify its benefits. Conclusions: compression therapy can open up a decisive and effective treatment option for the complete healing of chronic surgical wounds, when conventional treatments for this type of injury fail.
