Coordinators of nursing courses from 88 higher education institutions participated. To analyze the data, descriptive and inferential statistics and Fisher’s Exact Test were used. Results: there was a statistical similarity between both disciplines in higher education institutions, in which the private ones stood out more than the public ones. As for the subject of Forensic Nursing by federative units, the Southeast region had more higher education institutions that provide this subject. In terms of violence, the Southeast and South regions said they offered it. Conclusion: identified the subjects of forensic nursing and violence in undergraduate courses in Brazil. Although it is a current topic in teaching, it is necessary to have it so that students and teachers can establish possibilities to improve care in cases of violence.
