Abstract

The deficit of nutrition is one of the main health problems of the patient with cancer. The goals of an individualised diet are to maintainthe optimal nutritional status and to prevent nutritional deficiencies.This is also the clue to minimise the potential digestive complications of the treatment. It is important the assessment of dietetic habits and patient’s needs in order to balance them taking account the adverse effects of the antineoplasic treatments, specially quimo and radiotherapy.

It is worth highlighting the relevance of the nutrition as a factor preventing and protecting against cancer in healthy population. This is why health education is crucial for people to observe appropriate diets.
