Abstract

The teaching and learning of Basic Life Support by adolescents through obligatory secondary education would represent a life insurance policy at long term. This measure would enable 100% of the population to know what to do in emergency situations. A For this purpose, a Thematic Unit has been created and adapted to the last years of Obligatory Secondary Education. The idea is to introduce such thematic unit in core subjects to be taught to all students. Science has been thought to be the most suitable subject as it is directly related to health topics. Physical Education has also been considered as possible subject given it is obligatory in the third and fourth years of Obligatory Secondary Education. The thematic unit includes objectives and methodology, human resources, materials, temporisation of activities, assessment criteria and quality evaluation of the thematic unit.
