Abstract
Purpose: to analyze the strategies for the dissemination of results in scientific posters presented at nursing congresses.
Methods: a quantitative, descriptive, observational, prospective study. All the posters presented at two international nursing conferences held in Spain in 2017 were analyzed. All the posters displayed at the time of the evaluation were included. Endpoints: title, origin, photocopies, contact details, QR codes, flags, and advertising claims.
Results: we analyzed 740 posters. Spain was the country presenting the highest number of posters. The authors' contact details appeared in 22.83%, with 72.29% being included in the poster itself. QR codes were inserted in 3.91% of the posters. Paper copies were offered in 20.40% of cases, and the use of advertising claims or flags was observed in 34 and 19 cases, respectively.
Conclusion: in the sample studied, the authors underused the items to disseminate the results of the scientific poster, such as strategies to attract observers that would facilitate their interaction with conference attendees.
